That Well To Dig Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

That Well To Dig

Lies to tell and live them,
Receives to no one...
A truth to know as is.
Leaving nothing left.
But deception to explain it.
And...
The mind unnourished.
Thirsting for answers to find,
Credibility to lose.
And this can be worse than a drought.

That well begun to dig,
Deepens.
And too dry to provide,
Forgiveness from anyone...
To know they had been victimized.
On purpose by those,
Wishing to be rescued.
But alibis and excuses to make,
Too late to replace,
Lies told to tell them to intend.
With encouragement to buy.
Bought and sold!
