The Age Of Narcissism Poem by Francis Duggan

The Age Of Narcissism

At social gatherings, parties and wherever people do meet
There are those who with each other forattention compete
The ego in some it is out of control
And this on their humanity has taken toll
Of the age of narcissism it can be said
That humility is a gift that is all but dead
Self promotion nowadays seems quite the in thing
So many their own praises all too willing to sing
Of their own needs only many all too aware
The down to earth nowadays have become all too rare
The things born of race and nationalism that cause peopledivide
Racism and xenophobia are widespread Worldwide
Any act of kindness to another human being is never too small
Here's to human equality and a fair go for all.
