The Amazing Realms Of Heaven! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Passing through the defile
of the Himalayan massif
between Jammu and Anantnag,
drinking chill spring waters,
biting varied delicious fruits,
enjoying the cool embrace of the breeze,
throwing bits of bread to waiting monkeys,
pitying the mangled vehicles along the road,
shocking at the swooshing cars in bends,
marvelling at the deep valleys
shrouded in the green shawls of trees,
looking down at the west flowing river,
wondering at the route to Champa valley
in Himachal State in the east,
- all these make the trip make a grip
in our memory, forgetting all the perils!
But where have gone the singing maestros
whose thrilling sounds would make us swoon
and heal the weals of bleeding hearts?

Perhaps the wintry smiles
of the meek eternal Nature
would have panicked them
to migrate to a warmer region.
In the plains, the gigantic cell-towers
scare and drive them off;
besides the gypsies with traditional rights
are roaming with catapults and guns
with sharp eyes and cruel hearts
to strike them dead in some seconds.
Homeless they’re in this vast earth!
