The Angry People Poem by Barry Middleton

The Angry People

Rating: 5.0

these are the angry people
they claim they were cheated
the tax man was a thief
their life was brought to grief
and yet their wealth is great

they are afraid of shadows
their soul is a tree of death
it's only fruit is hatred
that brings death back to them
they claim a bitter god

in spring they dream of war
at dawn they watch the news
and as the day subsides
they appreciate the view
and take a lavish meal

they lock the door at night
a gun is by their side
they jump at every sound
and what the night may hide
they believe deception's plan

Wealth brings with it a lot of insecurities...fear of loss is one of them. Too much wealth also makes people greedy n they try to find ways to evade tax. Thats a significant piece of writing.10

Greed and fear seem to hang together like a pack of dogs. Thanks for the comment and the rating.

These angry people are the wealthy whiners in America who, having achieved success, are terrified that someone will come and take it away from them. They tend to be Republicans.
