The Arrow Poem by Barry Middleton

The Arrow

she shot an arrow to my heart
and I was underneath her spell

my courage gone along with will
and strength that I could not compel

I cannot blame her cruel attack
I wore no armor for my soul

for I was hungry for her love
with appetites beyond control

but I did learn the lesson well
and now I guard my tears and grief

no one can pierce my heart again
though loneliness is strange relief

Again on this one.Rarely have poet with such a persuasive wording and perception drawn the lines of infatuation.A great success of your pen, my friend.Of note, you know it already, rare are my eulogies.I'm proud you deserve it here.

Thank you Dimitrios. Indeed I have had several of those unfortunate encounters but they were all worth it I guess.
