The Art Of Self Deception

In a world where mirrors and masks reside,
The art of self-deception does preside.
A dance of shadows, veiled and concealed,
Where truth and falsehood intertwine and yield.

Reflective glass, a tantalizing lure,
Distorts the visage, allure obscure.
We wear masks of porcelain, smooth and fine,
Hiding the fractures, scars we can't define.

Behind the mirror's gaze, illusions grow,
A masquerade of selves we come to know.
Yet in this intricate charade we play,
Our truest selves may simply slip away.

With painted smiles, we mask our inner strife,
Ignoring whispers of our fragile life.
For in the art of self-deception's grasp,
We lose the truth and let illusions clasp.

But should we dare to look within the glass,
To strip away the masks, reveal what's vast,
We may find strength to shatter the facade,
And find a path where honesty is laud.
