The Atheist's Day Poem by Randy McClave

The Atheist's Day

I once did hear
That an atheist could never be found,
When there is heartbreak and/ or a tear
When a loved one is placed 6 feet underground.
Unto God for them there is always a prayer,
For love and forgiveness and peace there.

I once did hear someone speak
And then I saw or heard not one atheist,
When a prayer was given for the poor and the meek
Not one unbeliever in the room did exist.
Everyone in the room did lovingly and spiritually raise,
And as one they all gave God great praise.

I once heard a politician preach
At one of his many, many rallies,
Though the Bible he never did read or teach
And never symbolically did he walked with Jesus in the valleys.
Though he indeed was then a true deceiver,
But, then on that day he was then a true believer.

I have once been told
That there are never any atheists in a foxhole,
No matter how brave or even how bold
The soldier's always pray to God for their soul.
So, sad that the only time that unto God many will pray,
It is only when they need him for that one day.

I once was at a youth's funeral service
He wasn't saved and sadly and unexpectedly he had died,
Of course there was weeping and sadness and many were nervous
Not now knowing if now he was at God's side.
Now not knowing of his fate,
Now for him to accept Jesus as his savior is to late.
