Tojo station small and quiet
With long afternoon shadows
Streets trudged and narrow lanes
Coffee shops and vending machines
Quiet folk helping with direction
Well tendered houses, neat trees
Long shadows, afternoon sun
The defined clink of tea being served
Here and there. A cat stares at me
Before taking its leave
My first Japanese cat I mumble
Bottles of I think Sake
In framed windows.I lick my lips
A bit dry and afternoon thirst mode engaged
Why do I think of dancing chopsticks
And honking rolling soy sauce bottles
Deeply chuckling about my last
Should not of had vodka the previous evening
How to learn what I never can ha ha
Kyoto- I like this town already
It teaches me lessons about myself
Already and I have been here but one day
Imagine what I will know about it
By tomorrow ……..
