The Beauty Of The World Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The Beauty Of The World

Rating: 5.0

The beauty
of the world

is not
what is
seen

but what is
shared

what passes
between us

how I see
with your eyes
& you mine

what is conjured up
between us.

Your “Look..! ”
is the gift

not just
the scene

& now
seeing

it without you

I see only that

the beauty of the world

has made me sad.

Wow! Rarely have I read a poem which relates such an essential truth in so clear and succinct a manner. The beauty of the world is not what is seen but what is shared Makes we wish I had written this, but then I would probably have rambled on and never got to the essence of it the way you have done. Thanks so much.
