The Best Time Of Youth Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

The Best Time Of Youth

Rating: 5.0

How often we miss to see the truth
That we have a birth
Not to age but to endure like abiding nature
And as we call her dear loving mother
How can she be frugal in granting us this boon
When we listen to her quietly like obedient children
We doubt, we suspect and we regret
Yet the truth can be twisted with no new concept
For it is always there and for ever
We need to know them with diligence and care
We consider aging as natural as setting sun
Rising and holding for a brief spell morn, noon and afternoon
And then gone to reappear with a new morn
So it is with our age as life's milestone
But larger than life is stately presence and act
That we could hardly comprehend and equal heaven's fate
Yet clueless is not monastic life in the Himalayas
Where monks endeavour to defy and deny the usual course
With austerity, divinity and meditation
Thus gaining years to age and age to span
Besides we have the blessings of science
Of biology born and brought up in nature's cradle, the soulful cadence
Of which is often heard in lab gathering acorns of truth ray by ray
That upon being environed by wise and pleasant things we could mould our clay
An ounce more of antioxidants in diet
And yoga, exercise and meditation together can act
Miracles in stressing out and reversing the biological marks
Of aging and removing toxins and overwriting genes
As protozoa, hydra and microorganism
And other species keep up metabolism
Why can't we being the part of nature
As science says biological potential is 130 year
Thus the best time of youth is when we reach the age of seventy
Where I see buds blossoming into flowers of celestial beauty
For we don't die of age
We do die of disease
As God has sent us with this body that decays
Yet shines with every diet, every yoga, every exercise and every breeze
