The Book Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

The Book

Rating: 5.0

The book

Imagine buying cheap
-a very small book,
-first published
-in the nineteen thirteen
-on, about British
-past, and her history.

Imagine that time and
-claim of empire:
- "…no sunset…"

Now, think of the writings
- many lines scribbled
-no space, with pencil
-except two, blue-red
- ("Jane Robin" clear)
-with small drawing
-and signs on scroll …

Now, guess and imagine
-inhaling the writings
-as if the fresh air…

Then comes time to compare
-the past days with today
- (government of UK
-in death bed
-split!)

How I wish that I could
-get secrets of her soul
-by asking about time
- "Who are you? "
- "Your class and your job? "
- "In, out of government? "
- "Positions? Relations? "
- "Tell me of romance life."

But to me, what is left
-are the lines and the book
-can't question: "What you did? "

A fantastic poem, the huge empire which nobody thought could set one day is on a verge of collapse, The book is a fantastic title, which draws a sketch of this huge empire of early nineteenth century and of early twenty first century. Thoughtful poem.10/10
