The Book Of Life Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Book Of Life

More than half of my book of life
Has already been written
The chapters contain
All my trials and tribulations
All my rises and falls
All my joyful moments

Like a river I have run
Through mountains and valleys
To mingle with the great ocean
Where all souls meet
I have not sighted the waves yet
But heard their roars

Long have my father and forefathers reached it
And waiting for me there
Visiting me in my dreams
Guiding me through the unknown course
Long have I waited to meet them again
Their love locked in my heart

Thoroughly enjoying your poems, the clear questions they pose, their deceptively simple elegance.

I have not sighted the waves yet, but heard their roars- A nice poem with beautiful expression of thoughts.

That is the destination where all of us have to go one day. Such a nice poem on the flow of life and its end. 'Like a river I have run Through mountains and valleys To mingle with the great ocean Where all souls meet I have not sighted the waves yet But heard their roars'.. is so nice. Enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.
