The Charred Boides Of Hiroshima - Poem by Justin Tanabe

In my nightmares
The charred bodies of Hiroshima
Speak to me.
They say we are this way
Because of the stupidity of human beings
Because of war mongering
Because of the deifying of a mortal.
The Emperor of Japan.
Because of man’s incessant need to destroy and kill.
Because of the failure of human beings
Failure to love thy neighbor.
Failure to love thy enemies.
Failure to differentiate themselves from monsters
Failure to walk in the footprints of Christ.
In my nightmares
I hear the ghosts of Hiroshima cry out
'No more war! '
'No more Hiroshima! '
