The Childhood Friendship - Poem by Rm.Shanmugam Chettiar.

A cycas plant and a coconut plant,
Grown together in a nursery,
Were transplanted severally.
They grew to different heights in due course.
It was the dwarf cycas which had been proud
To say that the coconut tree was his play mate.

A mango seed and a banyan seed,
Sown and watered in a germination bed,
Were transplanted severally.
They grew to different shapes in due course
It was the little mango which was proud
That the banyan tree her nursery mate.
