The Color Of Darkness Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Color Of Darkness

In his mind
the traffic never slows down
his back
against the wall
a pile of dusty dirty
clothes upon the frozen ground
its a physical and a mental mess
his homeless condition
just one example
of the problem
faced by so many
men
women
and children!
his smile masks a frown
as he eats the crumbs
his begging as earned him
tonight he will make his bed
back of a garbage dumpster!
