The Controllable Journey Poem by Asavri Dhillon

The Controllable Journey

Rating: 5.0

The raindrops felt more like
Tear drops and the crocodile's eyes
pouring down, resonating victory
in an awkward blink of the eye.
they wrote of how death felt
who asked death of what it did?
walked in with soft feet, no sound
clenched the skull in its claws
poisoning the veins to spread
the numbing chills through the body.
and the body, reached a moment
where it didn't feel heavy anymore
it felt light as a feather
falling...
and as it fell, it experiences pain-
of separation.
the soul yearns to hold the hands,
of the beloveds
knowing it's too late
for the time has passed.
and the body has passed,
the wheel of time.
and through it, it has entered the portal
which lies between the Earth and,
an unknown world.
full of silence and darkness.
and the eyes close,
with the fading beats of the heart
the voices become echoes in the ears
a chaos. and the soul falls in love,
with the enchanting death.
and gives up Life for it.
