The Coral Of The Island Poem by THEODOROS MANTAS

The Coral Of The Island

Rating: 5.0

One stormy angry night
at a vast dark ocean
a wooden old ship was alone
and so much...frightened.
Its compass was broken
and the stars were hidden
behind the curtains
of the rainy clouds.
The waves were hungry
and the dead sailors at the
bottom of the sea
desired a new friend to drink with!
Without something more to do
or to think it started to sing
about its love for the sea
and for the island of corals
where tranquility and happiness
love to be.
Dolphins swam around
the lyrics of the song
and were so happy to be
momentary friends of
the lonely singer of the sea.
Suddenly a thunder run from the sky to the earth
O The song stopped to be and
a ship stopped to breathe!
The ocean became peaceful again
and a bright delicate priceless coral
on the back of a dolphin reached
the island where peace and tranquility
love to be.
