The Corrupting View. - Poem by Rm.Shanmugam Chettiar.
I spoke ill of her
As she was in others’ company.
I spoke nil of her
When she came to my friend’s company.
I spoke well of her
As I won her in my company.
Now I speak only of her
For now she is no more with others.
Jealousy to envy, envy to pride,
and pride to tranquility –
metamorphosis of feelings.
