The Cup Poem by David Taylor

The Cup

Rating: 5.0

He looked deeply in his cup
and thought it's only half full up
but when he looked within
he found it filled up to the brim
the empty space was occupied
by all the things that he desired
and left no space or gave room
for any wisdom to reside
and tell him what he needs to know
a cup that's not full up to the brim
is much more useful inside him.

Bravo David. It was I believe an Indian master who spoke to a devotee who asked for the secret of enlightenment while offering him a cup filled with ideas. The master said - pour it out. Only when the cup is empty will there be room for you to receive my teaching. Wisdom penned with style and lack of pretension. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
