The Darkness Poem by Kaitlin Schmidt

The Darkness

Rating: 5.0

Your eyes are heavy
Your body is weak
Your thoughts are slow
And words you can not speak

You look around
With hope in your eyes
Only to be let down
No surprise

Strength you gain
And slowly stand
Reaching out
Just to touch a hand

But no hand is there
Atleast one that is real
The fake one is gone
Now how do you feel?

The hand that was there
Had no strength behind
So you search for the real
But that was a lie

The air you search
As if it could be
Right at your reach
But never will it be

Your hope decreases
Your joy dies
Tears run down
It took so much to try

The dark air closes in
All hope seems lost
Your eyes are weary
Your heartbeat drops

The silence is real
The darkness even more
Your hope is gone
And fades away like before

That is a lovely poem about Darkness. I like it how you can tell us about Darkness like you have lived it :)
