The Dawn Is Nigh Poem by Waheed Khan

The Dawn Is Nigh

Rating: 4.7

This night sleepless, long and dark
And the inverted bowl we call the sky

Filled with stars yet darkness prevails
Hope for dawn how can one make

The light of moon lies dim and helpless
Blackness of the night as far as sight can take

Silence surrounds yet strange and weird
Like a symphony concealed which ears can't make

Oh heart behold for its just the matter of time
Soon the sun will rise, the spell of night will break

For hard times are not forever to stay
Hold your heart and do not forsake

Every Fall the leaves and flowers shed
Each tree and branch like teeth of rake

bloomed and green in spring then comes
shape of bouquet those trees and branches take

This sojourn of night this hope of dawn
teach us a lesson that is so great

when times are hard when heart is in pain
its not for long and nigh is jake

So if time wears dark cloak or regalia of the day
be hopeful and strong with a heart for any fate

Loved the play of words and thoughts and the use of the images signifying suffering and hope.
