The Day The Earth Was Destroyed Poem by Trade Martin

The Day The Earth Was Destroyed

The end was oh so near…..,
And only I could feel it coming…,
It seems so strange when you know….,
What’s going to happen…..,
And at the same time……,
You’re also fully aware…..,
That absolutely no one else
Can visualize or comprehend it……,
But in just a few short hours…..,
The planet and all its species…..,
Would be blown to bits……,
And become a big cloud…..,
Of polluted cosmic dust…..,
Yes, kind of a complete reversal…..,
Of the big bang that formed….,
This old earth of ours originally…..,
And I positively knew…..,
That it was the real thing…..,
Not a bogus dress-rehearsal……,
But what the hell’s the use….,
It’s so aggravating…..,
Why even say anything to anyone……,
They’d never believe me anyway…..,
And besides…., they would…..,
Think that I was totally out of my mind…..,
And I’d never get the chance…..,
To say, “See that you idiots, I told you so”…..,
Because we’d all be blasted……,
Into smithereens and dead….,
Then just that second…..,
My mom woke me up for school…..! ! !
