The Disaster Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

The Disaster

Rating: 5.0

Nothing is visible
Inside or outside
The sound of blasts
Is heard from miles

Is there an earthquake?
Or has something fallen
From the sky making a
Deep depression in the ground?

No one is there
To witness and say the truth

They trod upon a field of
Human carcasses
Covering their noses
And mouths and ears

When the debris will
Be lifted the blood and flesh
Will tell the truth

The truth
How inhuman we have become

The inhuman in our nature appears to be surfacing. Your poem so brilliantly illustrates that fact! Great poem, Poet Panda!

Yes. The bitter truth. Liked the penultimate line the most
