The Dogs Are Out Poem by Kevin Patrick

The Dogs Are Out

Rating: 5.0

The dogs... are out again tonight
Howling after loves fool beggars
As young men flee into the night
Running to their getaway cars
Leaving hearts of jaded mother's
To cry their lives through paper walls
As children watch this play unfold
Their raised to play those roles someday
The windows hide their shattered lives
Their desperate pleas that know one sees
Along the rowes of broken homes
Where dramas never end in hope
On Friday nights old games begin
And dogs are out again tonight

Such stark imagery makes your poem even more profound. A great expose of the vicious cycle of poverty!
