The Drumbeats Of My Soul Poem by Yousif Ibrahim Abubaker Abdalla

The Drumbeats Of My Soul

Father!
Father!
Father!
He wakes.
He works.
He stands.
Hands calloused.
Eyes steady.
Heart endless.
He carries storms.
He lifts mountains.
He bends never breaks.
Before I ran, he ran.
Before I spoke, he spoke.
Before I dreamed, he dreamed.
Father!
Strong as earth.
Deep as sky.
Silent as the stars.
He is the fire.
He is the shield.
He is the pulse.
He is the rhythm.
I rise.
I stand.
I move because he did first.
Father!
Father!
Father!
Say his name!
Shout his name!
Feel his strength!
Carry his light!
He is my mountain.
He is my river.
He is my guide.
He is my pride.
Father!
Forever.
Always.
My first horizon.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM: The poem was written on Sunday,2nd March 2026. This piece is a tribute to the strength, sacrifice, and guidance of fathers everywhere. Every line is crafted to be felt as much as heard short, rhythmic, and echoing like a drumbeat. It is meant to be performed aloud, repeated, and shared in unison, allowing the audience to feel the weight of a father's presence: steadfast, protective, and unwavering. The repetition of "Father! " serves as both a call and a chant a heartbeat, a pulse, a living prayer. The simplicity of the words is intentional: the power lies not in complexity, but in rhythm, cadence, and collective voice. This chant is for every child who stands because their father stood first; for every father whose quiet strength built worlds without fanfare; for every soul seeking to honor the men who guide, protect, and inspire. It is not just a poem, it is a movement, a ritual of gratitude, a song of reverence.
