The Drunkard Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Drunkard

Too much you drink
Until you are
Much too drunk
To think
You explore another planet
A heavenly world
On the other side
A place where
Strength or weakness
Cannot hide
Drink much too heavy to be high
No foot upon earth
And no eagle flies beyond
The clear blue sky
You can never really
Wear off the stain
The mask you wear
It does still remain
