The Emotions Of Dreams And Loss. Poem by Myrtle Thomas

The Emotions Of Dreams And Loss.

As Silence Races in the Universe

1.
so still that I can hear the hush of silence
and it the midst of it all time stands still
I feel the rush of my blood and its pulse
the texture of life finds my thoughts now.

2.

life battles with the vacant rooms
floundering essence of flesh and blood
the touch that rises in the morning light
the thoughts that hold the universe of -
memory.

3.

silence brings the thunder of thoughts
intensifying even the faintest idyl idea
and then here you are standing in front -
of me like the sunrise devouring the moon.

4.

where are we between daydreams now!
between the shade of yesterday and tomorrow
walking toward each other then away in a sunset
taking away the sound of footsteps from a room.

5.

how shall I rest or rise in the daylight alone?
without the stars and moon in your eyes on me!
silence only silence and the secrets spilled in the universe
like starshine- reflecting in eternity.

each daydream
follows us in silence
into the reality
of eternity.
