The End Poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

The End

Rating: 4.3

The end

So it is all over
ashes to ashes
dying is expensive
not paid for by
the recipient.
The padre was mercifully short
four funerals a day
nothing new to say.
The violinist played Ave Maria
I tried not to cry.
Death is a great leveller.
The empty feeling of the gone.
We had a good dinner and spoke of other things.
