The Evangelist Poem by Phillip Nine Mafunga

The Evangelist

Civil
Not evil
Dare no devil
But listen to the sound of the great gavel
A call unto glory, so much to marvel

Joy
Not a ploy
Love, employ
It could look all grey, but due care deploy
Even so, pursue purity as a boy

Fine
And never whine
Dare take no wine
Lest it weakens your mental spine
Just as does the toxicity of the pine

Story
And stop being sorry
Well, life can be that gory
But cover your soul in His Glory
Forever stick to His Eternal story
