The Evening Scene Of Osaka Castle Poem by Kinsley Lee

The Evening Scene Of Osaka Castle

The Cheonsugak stands up tall, its grandeur as in days of yore,
In the woods, wild-birds sing, and spring flowers bloom galore.

Hideyoshi's greediness made the skulls piled up like mountains,
Hideyori's folly turned the house's foundation to sand grains.

Grievous blood washed away, warship's traces submerged,
Sad corpses scattered as dust, the sound of chariots purged.

When the wind ceases, mist rises white on the dark lake,
As the sun sets, the red clouds, in blue sky, come down the pike.
