The Fall Of My Life - Poem by Edward Hammer

It is the fall and the fall of my life
If only to share this time with my wife
If only what is, never was
I feel life has stopped and sometimes it does

I try to imagine my future to be
At this point in time there’s nothing to see
I haven’t a clue how God’s planned my life
Or the reason He has taken my wife

I only know that when I pass on
These questions I ask will all be gone
And the answers to everything I seek to find
That God only knows, He’ll share in my mind

It’s still the fall and the fall of my life
I still wish this time I could share with my wife
I will try to move on and tough this will be
There must be a future, a future for me
