You think that I'm young
And think that i'M weak
But inside me there's a spark
That flicker's down deep

You say that I'm nothing
Oh, don't you dare
For in my heart the mark of power
I do bare

I may be the freak
The girl inside her dreams
But I'm not as fragile
Not as calm as I seem

For inside me there's a tiny flame
That glows soft and steady
It tells me that I'm not to blame
And for challenges keeps me ready

Because I believe,
That I can stand up to the world
I'm the one who can change
I can make seas rise with just my word
I'm the one who can rearrange

When I look out my window
The other girls I see
Snickering and mocking
Staring up at me

They think I must be breaking
Deep inside my soul
When they really have no idea
Of the humor all this hold

And when I walk down the pathway
I hold y head up high
And keep myself from smiling
At the averted eyes of passersby

What's wrong with you now?
Don't I seem funny enough?
Or are you intimidated in person?
If so, well, that's rough.

I know that you can also see
The Flames that are inside
The ones as bright as the blazing sun
And in my soul they reside

I really don't wanna intimidate you
Or make you feel like a weakling
Come with me, don't be shy
Come on! I'll tell you a secret thing

You see, the fire that I talk about
It's not like it's just in me
Sit down, take a deep breath
And in your heart you'll see.

A shining ball of soothing light
That burns in the deepest part
It's the thing keeps you going
It's what makes us a lionheart.

It's not always soothing, you know
It changes with your feelings
It can turn from a small, helping candle flame
To a forest fire that damages beyond the power of healing.

When you're happy it will burn
Like a sparkle of dancing light
When you're sad it will turn
To a small glow of controlled might

Your anger will act
Like the fuel to the flame
But only when you're confident
It will become tame

So my advice to you is simple
Keep your head cool and calm
And you'll be able to control the world
Like you're holding it in your palm

If something bad comes around
Accept it! Let things go on!
Just look forward, keep your head high
Because it's always darkest before the dawn.
