The First Official Xmas With Deadly Covid Poem by Hebert Logerie

The First Official Xmas With Deadly Covid

This Christmas, this Noël will not be the same
The culprit is COVID 19 that we must blame
For having infected and killed so many dreams
So many parades, so many festivities
So many innocent people, so many streams
So many good things and so many parties
We all know that Xmas brings joy and happiness
But right now, we are all facing: depression, stress
Anxiety, unemployment, sickness, pain and sorrow
We are not sure about anything and about tomorrow
We rely in our God, our Holy Faith and Mother Nature
We cannot see or envision too far in the distant future
Life is fragile and unpredictable. Life is like smoke in the air
It can dissipate, disappear without warning, without ringing
A bell. We come and go like summer, winter, fall and spring
Yet, we feel something unusual in the atmosphere
This holiday season will not be the same
We must wear masks, wash hands and keep distancing
No handshakes, no hugs, no kisses and no dancing
This pandemic makes us realize that life is not a ballgame.
