The Floating Leaf Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Floating Leaf

Rating: 5.0

Your destiny is in your hand, they say
Be strong and make your own way
You will reach wherever you want
If you stop saying that you can't

Go and ask any wise old kin
With hair all grey and wrinkled skin
Whether he reached his intended place
Or went and landed where fate had led

This way and that, led by fate, we move
Like a leaf fallen from a branch that shook
Carried by the wind across the garden
Into the flowing water of the nearby brook
