The Frankfurter Messe - My Testimonial (2)
Of God's Miracles in my life

I stopped at The Frankfurt Fair
we were on our way home
from the most beautiful holidays in Rome
here on our way, no stars to see anywhere

on the other hand, everything seemed alright
but it was the darkest night
we were almost home from Rome,
just after Frankfurt, I noticed with the gasoline
something was wrong
there were no others to discover
so very quiet, we were the only ones

I said to myself:
Syl, you have to stop at a gas station
because you're out of fuel

Nowhere were the gas stations open at midnight
But great luck, in the next town there was one open
I filled up the tank
but the owner did not accept Euro checks, only cash

I was the only one who filled up
The man at the station told me
there was a post office behind here
and I could get cash for my Eurocheques

very disappointed I returned, the post office was closed,
how could I pay him for the gas?
The children were still sleeping peacefully in the back seat

Suddenly there came a dark blue Mercedes
I hardly hear that blitz automobile coming
the man was an Oriental businessman from Hanover,
I did not ask anything, instead, he was all silence
but asked me what was going on

I told him the gas station guy didn't accept Euro checks,
cash only, he saw my Euro check and took it
he told me he would pay the gas station guy,
the amount was 44 DM, it was back then before the Euro era.

With a happy and peaceful heart, I drove home
Till today that 44 DM has never been drawn from my bank.

I told my Mom about that occurrence and she said to me:
The man was an angel, Syl, God always cares for us.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
All gas stations were closed, only one was open, he only wanted cash payment, but I needed badly the fuel, so I started to fill my car and afterwards I gave him an Eurocheck, on holidays I always bring Euro-checks with me, never cash, never a problem till this midnight as I have told in my story-poem, thank you for reading, this is the 2nd sequel of God's Wonders that I have experienced, according to my late Mom, that oriental business man from Hannover was an angel. She was right, since that Eurocheck of 44 DM waws never cashed.
