The future is numb
The future has no feelings
Recognized too late supplies of feelings were running low
Extinction obliterates any plans for replenishment, an unsolvable problem
The future is a case of mistaken identity
Technological advances masquerading as success
The operation was a success but the patient died
Your apps just made my life harder
The size of depleting forests is quickly romanticized
And on the tips of the tongues of neurodivergent protestors
The future is busier but what was expected was it would be better
I was never in a hurry
Now I am always in a hurry and juggling thoughts like plates
More and more they elude my hands and crash and break
And the optimistic visualisation of a clean mechanical future where all task are easy
Is not anywhere close to the cluttered, difficult foul, future of now
Paradise should have been found a long time ago
We weren't evolved enough to create that then but we aren't any better now
