The Great Goddess Of Nature Her Praises We Should Sing Poem by Francis Duggan

The Great Goddess Of Nature Her Praises We Should Sing

The great Goddess of Nature her praises we should sing
In her woodlands, parks and gardens her wild birds chirp and sing
The colours of her Seasons the beauty of her flowers
That bloom in all of their beauty after the Summer showers
She dwells in the town parklands and in the countryside
The Goddess of Mother Nature her secrets from me she hide
The more I learn about her the less of her I know I know
The mystery that surrounds her it only seems to grow
The mystery that surrounds her the babbling of her rill
The whistling of her wild born birds in the woodland by the hill
A walk in her quiet places is a thing I do enjoy
I love her as an ageing man and I loved her as a boy
Born of an act of Nature and in some future day
In her dark and earthy bosom what death leaves of me will lay.
