The Greatness Of Ascetics(Section 3 Of Thirukural) Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Greatness Of Ascetics(Section 3 Of Thirukural)

21. The decisions of the treatises is to sing,
the greatness of those who their desires renounce and sling.
22. To measure the eminence of the ascetics is an effort
to count those who were born and dead in this world, to set.
23. Weighing the merits of the earthly and spiritual states,
those who renounced in this world would rise to great heights.
24. By the hook of wisdom, if one curbs one's five senses,
to the great world of Elysian, he will be one of the seeds.
25. To the might of those who subdued the five senses
Indra, the Chief of the Heaven is the ample proof.
26. The great men do rare, wonderful deeds.
To do such things, it is impossible for the mean breeds.
27. The world dwells in him who knows the five senses
of taste, sight, touch, hearing and smell.
28. The greatness of the sages comes to light
by their utterances of secret words of merit and might.
29. The wrath of those who scaled the mount of virtues
though short-living, hardly its harm is stopped.
30. The virtuous people are those
who shower grace to all living things.

showing grace to all people is the trait of virtuous people. Our Thiruvalluvar is too great to comprehend, but in one of his kural he had undermined women, which I can't figure out. Thank you for your good effort..
