The Gulf Poem by Terry Brewer

The Gulf

SCUDs fly,
Why?
Patriots intercept,
So adept.
While politicians pose
With self fulfilling prose
and We the People
Weep.

Civilizations failed,
Derailed
by personal greed,
Freed
to cancer the world,
Hurled
Into unwanted conflict.
Reflect.

How do we ensure
No more
Shall dictators command.
We the People demand
That the world unite,
And with our collective might
Release
Peace

Terry thank you for your poem Gulf. I feel the same way. I spent two years of life in Iraq durinthe late fifties. Then i could see the hope and the poverty of a lot the people. Now I should imagine it is even worse. It is high time the world and all its people learned to live in peace and each get a fair share of its spoils. Keep writing.
