The Guy Next Door Poem by Melissa Barber

The Guy Next Door

Rating: 4.0

I met a guy
He was a little shy
We started talking and getting along
From that point on
I knew where I belong
In his arms forever more
But he wanted more
More then just me
He wanted two or three
He had to make up his mind
I told him to take his time
For he might make the biggest mistake of his life

He says he loves me
And would never hurt me
So someone tell me why I feel so bad
This isn’t suppose to be this way
It’s all suppose to be okay

He tells me things that I want to hear
Sometimes, though, he isn’t very clear
All I want is to make him smile
I will wait awhile
His decision is key
If he doesn’t want to see me
I’ll take my leave
But we’ll still be friends
I'll always be here for him in time of need
And I’ll still always be
The one you let go
