When Appearances Matter Poem by Melissa Barber

When Appearances Matter

Stand me up once
I'll probably get over it
Stand me up twice
Well, that's just isn't nice
I guess you weren't that
That gentleman I saw in a nice top hat

It's too bad, too
Because I really liked you

You make excuses
And I don't want to hear them
Don't want to listen to your views
About why you left me hanging
Don't you know?
I waited for an hour
But you were a no show

I can tell you this
You missed your chance
To hang out with a great miss
