The Hardships. - Poem by Gangadharan nair Pulingat..

Climate often confuses us
By way of flood, and drought here
The calamities to such extreme
The human life sometimes to suffer more
Tragedies of flood and drought
The tornadoes, floods, lightnings
The harmful destruction, life and property
Some where missing of human life stories
Scientific remedies to the extent possible
The cause and effect of our own involvement
Climate change a problem now we to face
The mother earth says, calm yourselves
And be careful always me and the climate.

This is sad what the story tells, but I do not think you did your best here. I can see places where the language can be better to sound a bit more like poetry or poetic diction. As it stands now it just tells about things that happen because of mother nature, but it is somewhat away from being a poem in the true meaning of what poetry really is.

It could earn a little bit the title of poetic prose, but that is a different story; something that requires another kind of explanation.

Keep on trying and you will come to do much better.
