The Hazards Of Being A Dad Poem by Ted Sheridan

The Hazards Of Being A Dad

Rating: 5.0

I read your poem; the one about needing your father to love you.
It made me think; I always wanted my daughter to be independent
and so in raising her to need no one. I missed out on her needing me.
Had I not dismissed her needs as childish things she would one day
grow out of; I would not have felt so alone when I read your poem
the one about needing more than I gave….

Ted, this is heartbreaking. However, I bet you anything your daughter adores her Daddy. (If she didn't, she wouldn't have felt the need to rebel) . t x
