The Heartbreaking Beauty Of Innocence Poem by Sonny Rainshine

The Heartbreaking Beauty Of Innocence

Rating: 5.0

While governments come and go,
as politicians duke it out
and vulgarity and tawdriness
define the day,
a six-year-old boy
sprawls on the floor among his friends
with his coloring book, thinking
about the ice-cream party
tomorrow honoring
his perfect attendance
in first grade.

If only those politicians ever really considered these innocents - this is a wonderful poem.
