I wake up each and every day
I say a little prayer
I send a message up to God
To let Him know you're here

I ask Him to guide you
In every possible way
I ask Him to watch over you
As you walk through your day

I told Him what you're going through
I asked Him to care
He responded very firmly
I've always been there

He said, I watch out for all my children
Especially those in need
So, you don't have to ask me
No need to beg or plead

He told me to continue to pray
Because that's the thing to do
When you love someone else
You want to see them make it through

So as I start each brand new day
I say a prayer for you
Knowing that one day soon
All of your hurting will be through
