The Ingrates Poem by Abekah Emmanuel

The Ingrates

Rating: 3.5

PEACE, their anthem everyday
Yet unable to create peace a day
JUSTICE, their cliche
Yet injustice themselves.

Divine helpers they try to be
But skillful liars
Whose lies are reliable
Long fingered councilors.

They drink sweet whisky
And eat fresh meat
We? they do not care
But we care for them.

Standing in a long queu
'Heat breathing sun'
But we withstand
Supporting them to stand.

i copied this from online: Definition 1 Councilor A member of a council Examples He's an active city councilor. 2 Counselor Someone who gives advice about problems Examples The counselor gave them advice - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ABEKAH, i was not familiar with the word councilor. i even misspelled it (with an s instead of the second c) when i tried spelling it. i am familiar though with council and counselor. which word did you mean to use? david harris and perhaps john westlake may have thought councilor, since they both mention politicians in their comments. speaking of which, i have never considered running for an elective office after getting out of school, BUT, despite the fact that no politician can please everyone, and some can displease a whole LOT of people, i am glad some people step forward to fill the necessary offices of government. i'd hate to see what this country (and others) would look like without governments! - - - - - - - - - - ok, now i've actually finished reading your poem. thanks for sharing, but it is too vague for my understanding and, frankly, you lost me. Divine helpers they try to be...................whoever they are, they certainly fail to please, according to your poem. perhaps you should not have written that they try to be (helpers) . perhaps they try to appear helpful would have been more accurate? bri :)

I assume this poem is about politicians? It's the same the world over, to a greater or lesser extent.
