The Joy Of Overcoming Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Joy Of Overcoming

This morning
The joy of overcoming
There is still pain
But it does not paralyze.

It could have been
You would never have walked freely again-

The fresh air
The open spaces
The sky opening beyond the Knesset skyline
The joy of overcoming
The joy of freedom
You can walk again.
