The Killing At Fort Hood Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

The Killing At Fort Hood

When soldiers die in their own homeland
From the hands of the vile enemy within,
It's a tragedy that is so hard to understand
And the grief it brings so hard to take in.

When Justice is made to wait many years
It can dull the nation's regard for life,
The victims' families have cried all the tears
The denial is enough, just cause for strife.

Are they so blinded not to see as they should?
The arrogant slayer is guilty beyond doubt!
If they can't resolve the killing at Fort Hood
The souls of the dead will themselves cry out!
