The Lost Ship Poem by Paul Jonathan Stertz

The Lost Ship

Rating: 4.5

Before I met you, there was something missing
Like a ship in a storm, my soul was listing-
You weren't in my life, yet I understood
Because you weren't there, I missed all that was good.

From the day that I met you, my life came together
My ship found safe haven from the stormy weather
Of life-and 'til I could see you once more,
I was content to wait by the shore.

When I lost you forever, it was all pulled away
In a heartbeat, life's ocean was cold and gray
The waves crashing in, I was lost at sea
Turbulent times lay ahead of me.
