The Masquerade Of Shadows: The Fake Gurus, Dervishes, And Sufis. Poem by Mohammad Younus

The Masquerade Of Shadows: The Fake Gurus, Dervishes, And Sufis.

They come cloaked in borrowed light,
their tongues dripping honeyed lies,
claiming the mantle of the divine,
yet their hearts are hollow, their souls unlit.

They dance on the edges of truth,
twisting sacred words into knots of deceit,
their hands outstretched, not in blessing,
but in greed, grasping at the coins of the desperate.

They speak in riddles, their voices a labyrinth,
leading seekers astray, away from the path of the sun,
into the fog of confusion, where reason falters,
and the mind, once sharp, grows dull with superstition.

They howl at the moon, their rituals a spectacle,
a theater of chaos, mistaken for devotion,
their followers, wide-eyed and trembling,
mistake madness for holiness, noise for song.

They claim the authority of the heavens,
yet their words are poison, their deeds a betrayal,
dividing the faithful, sowing discord,
while the true light flickers, dimmed by their shadow.

They are the counterfeit, the false coin,
passed off as treasure, but worthless in the end,
their presence a blight, a cancer on the soul of the community,
eroding trust, stifling thought, choking the roots of progress.

Beware their masks, their empty promises,
for they are the thieves of faith, the merchants of illusion,
and in their wake, they leave only ashes,
where once there was the spark of truth.

Let us not be deceived by their glittering facade,
but seek instead the quiet, the humble, the sincere,
for true wisdom is not found in the clamor of the crowd,
but in the stillness of a heart that knows itself.
